The Windsor Road is a main road in the east of the Australian state of New South Wales . It connects Church Street and the Cumberland Highway in Parramatta with The Northern Road , Hawkesbury Valley Way and Putty Road in Windsor .

course

Windsor Road branches off as a continuation of Church Street (S40) from Briens Road and James Ruse Drive (Cumberland Highway) in Parramatta to the northwest. At Baulkham Hills she crosses the Hills Motorway (Met-2 / Met-7). It continues through Castle Hill to the northwest and then to the west at Kellyville .

This is where the Old Windsor Road (Met-2) coming from the southeast joins . Windsor Road turns again to the northwest and takes, in addition to the designation State Road 40, the designation Metroad 2. It leads through Rouse Hill, Box Hill and Vineyard to Graths Hill , where the Pitt Town Road (S65) branches off to the northeast. A little later it reaches its end point in Windsor, where it meets The Northern Road (Met-9) and Putty Road (S69). The Hawkesbury Valley Way heading west takes over the numbering there as State Road 40.

history

Together with the Old Windsor Road from Baulkham Hills, the Windsor Road from Kellyville to Windsor was expanded as a four-lane artery with a median until November 2007.
