The Windward Point ( English for windward tip ) is a rocky, eroded and wind-exposed headland on the west coast of McDonald Island in the southern Indian Ocean . It is between The Needles and Cauldron Bay .
Scientists from the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions set up a surveying station here in March 1980 and gave the headland its descriptive name.
