The Windy Cove ( English for Windy Bay ) is a small bay on the north coast of South Georgia . It is located 1 km southeast of Antarctic Point in the northwest of Antarctic Bay .
Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations mapped it in 1929. They named it Whatahope Bay (English for Welch Hope Bay ). The further background of this designation is not known. As a result of surveys by the South Georgia Survey between 1951 and 1952, the bay was inadvertently renamed, assuming it was still nameless.
