Winfried Aymans

Winfried Aymans (born July 2, 1936 in Bonn ) is a Roman Catholic priest and canon lawyer .

Life

Winfried Aymans studied Catholic theology at the Universities of Bonn , Munich and Cologne from 1956 and was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Cologne on February 22, 1962 . From 1964 he studied in Munich canon law and was established in 1968 with a thesis on college and collegial act in canon law to Dr. iur. can. PhD . In 1970 he completed his habilitation at the LMU Munich with the work "The synodal element in the church constitution". In 1971 he was appointed to the University of Trier , and in 1975 he moved to the University of Bonn .

From 1978 he held the chair of his teacher Klaus Mörsdorf at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich for exactly 25 years . In addition, he was head of the Canon Institute of the University of Munich, which was renamed "Klaus-Mörsdorf-Studium für Canonistik" in 2001. In 2003 he retired.

Aymans published authoritative works on canon law. Above all, he has taken on the revision of the textbook on canon law founded by Eduard Eichmann and continued by Klaus Mörsdorf under the title "Canon Law" (four volumes).

He has been a member of the KDSt.V. since 1958. Rheno-Franconia Munich.

He is also one of the signatories of the "Correctio Filialis".
