Winfried Gräber (born November 30, 1947 in Karlsruhe ) is a former German officer , most recently retired major general . D.

Life

Winfried Gräber joined the Air Force in October 1965. After training as an officer , he became a lecture hall director and specialist teacher for military law and human resources at the Air Force Specialized Training School in Iserlohn. Then he became company commander 16./LAR 4 in Ulmen / Eifel. He was adjutant head of the Air Force Office to Lieutenant General Richard Frodl. Then he was a participant in the 27th General Staff Training of the Air Force at the command academy of the Bundeswehr in Hamburg. This was followed by a job as department head A1 Kdo 1st LwDiv in Meßstetten. Then he was commander of the JaboG 34 air base group in Memmingerberg. This was followed by a position as speaker P IV3 in the BMVg in Bonn. Then he was department head A3 Staff LwAmt in Cologne-Wahn. He was a participant in the 82nd NATO Defense College in Rome. Then press spokesman and chief PIO at HQ AFCENT in Brunssum, NL. This was followed by a position as Head of Division P IV 3 and PSZ IV 5 in the BMVg in Bonn. In his first general assignment with simultaneous promotion to brigadier general, he was "General Personnel and Lw Training" in the Air Force Office in Cologne-Wahn. Afterwards he was deputy commander of the 1st LwDiv in Karlsruhe and Fürstenfeldbruck. This was followed by a position as head of staff department FüS I in the BMVg in Bonn.

Between April 1, 2004 and October 30, 2005 he served as Chief of Staff of the Air Force Command Staff (Fü L) . From November 1, 2005 until his retirement at the end of November 2009, he was head of the Air Force Office . His successor was Peter Funk .

He is married with a son and three grandchildren.

Gräber is the founding president of the German Air Force Association of Interest, founded on October 25, 2010. V. ”, which he chaired until December 2014. He was then appointed honorary president.
