Winfried Thiel (born June 29, 1940 in Cottbus ) is a German Protestant theologian .

Life

After graduating as Dr. theol. at the HU Berlin 1970 and habilitation in Berlin 1976 he became a lecturer in Marburg in 1982 and taught from 1992 to 2005 as a professor for the Old Testament in Bochum .
