history

The company was founded in 1930 by Erwin Winkels, who produced soft drinks and fruit juices in the Karlsruhe district of Durlach . In 1935 he opened his first own mineral water spring in Bad Griesbach in the Black Forest . Further mineral wells were put into operation in Spielberg (FONTANIS Mineralquelle) in 1964 and in Sersheim (alwa Mineralquelle) in 1972 .

Since 2005 the Spielberger Quelle has been connected to the bottling plant in Sersheim via a nine-kilometer-long mineral water pipeline .

With retroactive effect from January 1, 2011, Winkels took over the Pro-Getränke Group, Mannheim, to which HM InterDrink Getränke-Service GmbH and GGS Gastronomie-Getränke-Service GmbH & Co. KG (both Mannheim) each owned 100%, as well as the Groß + Klein Getränke GmbH + Co. KG, Neunkirchen, owns 49%.

In October 2011, Winkels took over Rietenauer Mineralquellen GmbH in Aspach .

In spring 2012 the administration moved from Karlsruhe to Sachsenheim. The new administration building was inaugurated on May 11, 2012.

In 2015 the new central warehouse in Östringen was put into operation. The previous warehouses in Karlsruhe and Mannheim were merged here.

activities

The group's activities are divided into beverage production and beverage logistics.

Winkels owns several of its own mineral fountains, which produce mineral water and non-alcoholic soft drinks. The beverage logistics division supplies the retail and specialist trade with a fleet of around 180 of its own trucks and also takes care of the return transport of the empties.
