The Winston Glacier is a glacier in the southeast of Heard Island in the southern Indian Ocean . It flows to the Winston Lagoon .
Scientists from the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions carried out surveys in 1948. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named them based on the naming of the lagoon of the same name. This is named after the maiden name of the wife of Lieutenant Malcom Smith of the Royal Australian Air Force , who made the first reconnaissance flight over Heard in a seaplane in 1948 .
