Winston Hills is a suburb of Sydney in the Australian state of New South Wales . The place is about 28 kilometers northwest of the city center of Sydney and belongs to the Parramatta parish of the Baulkham Hills administrative district . Colloquially, Winston Hills is abbreviated as 'Winsto' by the locals. The population is around 11,700 (as of 2016).

The settlement area was developed in the 1960s and was previously known as 'Model Farms'. This original name comes from an educational farm designed to familiarize immigrants with vegetables that are suitable for growing in Australia. The public institutions include three elementary schools (Winston Hills Primary School, Winston Heights Primary School and St. Paul the Apostle Primary School) as well as the Model Farms High School as a secondary school.
