The winery Acker 10 was a winery with an outbuilding and now houses a restaurant. It stands in the old town of the Rhineland-Palatinate state capital Mainz and is classified as a cultural monument.

description

The courtyard and rear building date back to the late 18th century. In terms of cultural history, the courtyard is classified as baroque . Until the expansion of the city in the 1870s, the building was located on the building boundary, which was followed by some of the last vineyards within the city wall , which, however, were cultivated in the 1850s due to the need for space. The winegrower's house, which is now a listed building along with the annex, is dated on a keystone to the year 1794. It is a plastered building that partly covers half-timbering.

The facade of the two-story building is completely covered with wild vines. The ensemble is accessed through an arched entrance portal with a partially glazed wooden gate. The building is structured by four window axes.

use

Today the building is used exclusively for catering. The two-story courtyard extension surrounds a small inner courtyard, which is also used for gastronomy in summer. The stairwell is on the outside in the courtyard entrance.

Surroundings

The restaurant with the name Am Bassenheimer Hof is located directly to the south of the more well-known city palace Bassenheimer Hof , but in a small paved cul-de-sac. Laura Bush dined here on February 23, 2005 when her husband visited Germany. Juliette Gréco can also be found in the guest book with the entry “Merci de tout mon cœur”.
