(1981)

We do not want Bullenschweine is the first EP of Slime . It contains the title song of the same name , which repeatedly caused discussions and, thirty years after its publication, led to the indexing of the sound carrier by the Federal Testing Office for Media Harmful to Young People (BPjM).

History of origin

After Slime broke up with their first singer Thorsten “Scout” Kolle, they moved into a rehearsal room with new singer Dirk Jora in a residential area in Hamburg-Eimsbüttel . There they wrote the angry punk song We don't want bull pigs as their first song . Tom Meyer, a sound engineer and owner of the independent label Moderne Musik, offered the band to record a single . In the fall of 1979 the band recorded four tracks. Besides we don't want any bull pigs also Iran , I hate and hey punk . The EP was released in February 1980.

Publications

The EP was initially published in a print run of 2,000 copies, which quickly sold out. The first 500 copies came with a red label on a white label, the later pressings with a black label. There is no official reprint, but there are two bootlegs , one from 2010 and an unknown publication date. One of the bootlegs is the basis of the 2011 indexing.

Cover

The record cover is an imitation of the single cover of The Clashs White Riot and shows the band members in a typical arrest pose from behind, arms outstretched and legs spread. A Mercedes star can be seen in the foreground . The E-Class Mercedes-Benz was a typical police car model at the time .

Song info

Iran is an indictment against the regime in Iran at the time , which was established there after the Islamic Revolution . It is no longer played by the band today because Jora no longer wants to sing the line of text “Koran - Bible for Fascists”. For a long time the song was only available as a live version on Live (Pankehallen January 21, 1984) . In 1990 it appeared on the compilation Paranoia in der Straßenbahn - Punk in Hamburg 1977-83 by Weird System and on later releases of the debut album.

Hey Punk appeared in a different version on the band's debut album a year later.

I Hate was also republished on Paranoia in the Tram - Punk in Hamburg 1977-83 . Another version under the English title Hate Them All appeared on the compilation The Last of Slime.
