Wironium

Wironium is the trade name of a biocompatible alloy manufactured by BEGO . It consists of 63% cobalt , 29.59% chromium , 5% molybdenum , <2% silicon , <2% manganese , <2% iron and a maximum of 0.17% carbon . Wironium is used in the medical field for prostheses in the oral cavity . Due to the lack of nickel in the material, no allergic reactions are to be expected in the patient.

According to the manufacturer's information, the material fulfills the conditions specified in the standard DIN EN ISO 6871-1 (1996) "Precious metal-free dental cast alloys - Part 1: Cobalt-based alloys".
