Science teaching nova methodo

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The science theory nova methodo is the second system design by the philosopher Johann Gottlieb Fichte . It was in three lectures in the winter semester 1796 / 97 , 1797 / 98 and 1798 / 1799 at the University of Jena presented.

The exact lecture text and Fichte's manuscript are largely lost. Only the introduction and paragraph 1 were published by Fichte under the name "An attempt at a new representation of the science of science". The science teaching nova methodo is handed down as a whole in the following lecture notes:

  • a fragmentary postscript by Friedrich August Eschen, presumably from the winter semester 1796/97
  • a postscript from Halle in the possession of GM Meyers, presumably from the winter semester 1797/98
  • a postscript by Karl Christian Friedrich Krause from the winter semester 1798/99

Content links the theory of science nova methodo to Fichte basis of the whole theory of science ( 1794 / 1795 ) to, but methodically presents the reasoning reflected and seeks to eliminate ambiguities that on the basis of the whole theory of science have been criticized.

The Wissenschaftslehre nova methodo is printed in volumes IV, 2 and IV, 3 of the edition of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences.
