Since 1957 the address has been at Mauerstrasse 6.7, since 1861 at Mathieustrasse 14. (In 1865 another address for instrument makers appeared under his name, H. Wittig, probably for Ernst Wittig, see there). In 1872 the place of activity was Stallschreiberstraße 59, in 1873 Köpenicker Straße 51.52 and in 1874 Matthieustraße 17. There are no known works by Gottfried Wittig.

Ernst Wittig

Ernst Wittig († after 1912) was a piano manufacturer in Berlin-Kreuzberg and Berlin-Mitte . He was probably already working as an instrument maker at Oranienstraße 64 since 1865 , but under the name H. Wittig (see above), in 1866 as a piano manufacturer .

In 1870 he appeared under his name Ernst Wittig as a piano manufacturer at Raupachstrasse 6, since 1875 at Manteuffelstrasse 13. In 1905 Ernst Wittig referred to himself as the purveyor to the court, Sr. Königl. Highness Prince Friedrich Leopold of Prussia with the distribution center An der Jerusalemerkirche 2. The company probably built instruments until 1912.

Grand pianos and upright pianos from the piano company Ernst Wittig are still preserved today.
