Vyacheslav Kostjantynowytsch Prokopowytsch (born June 10 . Jul / 22. June  1881 greg. In Kiev , Russian Empire ; † 7. June 1942 in Bessancourt in Paris , France ) was a Ukrainian politician, journalist and historian.

Life

Vyacheslav Prokopovych was born into a Kiev priestly family , whose father's side came from an old Cossack family. He studied history and philology at the University of Kiev and then worked as a teacher.

Prokopovytsch was politically active from 1905 and from 1908 a member of the Ukrainian Democratic-Radical Party ( Ukrajinska Demokratichno-radykalna partija, UDRP ), then the Society of Ukrainian Progressists ( Towarystwo ukrajinskych postupowziw, TUP ), from 1917 a member of the Central Committee of the Ukrainian Federal Party Socialists ( Ukrajinska partija socialistiw-federalistiw, UPSF ).

In January – April 1918 Prokopovytsch held the post of Minister of Education in the cabinet of Vsevolod Holubovych , from May 28 to November 14, 1920 he was President of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian People's Republic .
