Vladimir Alexeyevich Smirnov
Wladimir Alexejewitsch Smirnow ( Russian Владимир Алексеевич Смирнов ; born January 29, 1957 in Pskov ) is a Russian businessman.
Life
He graduated from the Leningrad Institute in 1980 with a major in electromechanical engineering for the production of aerospace technology and received his doctorate in engineering (1986) and economics (2000).
Since 2008 he has been a member of the supervisory board of the Russian Nazionalny Kosmitscheski Bank . Smirnow is the author of ten inventions and the author of 45 scientific papers. In 1990 he founded a joint venture in St. Petersburg with a German partner, the property developer Inform-Future. The company built the first office complex for foreign companies in the city. Between 1997 and 1998 Smirnov was the general director of the Petersburg Fuel Company . He then became the company's CEO. He worked in this role in 1999 and 2000.
Tenex
Smirnow began his work as General Director of Techsnabexport (Tenex) in 2002. While he was working for Tenex until 2007, Smirnov signed long-term contracts until 2020, which guarantee a supply of low-enriched uranium to almost all nuclear power plants in the world.
With Smirnow in the position of general manager, Tenex operated the “ megatons to megawatts ” project in cooperation with the United States of America . Since the program came into force, Russia has earned $ 3.5 billion.
