Vladimir Gennadjewitsch Denisov ( Russian Владимир Геннадьевич Денисов * 22. May 1947 in Gorky ) is a former Russian foil - fencers , who for the Soviet Union started. He won a silver medal in the Olympics .
successes
On September 2, 1972, Denisov won the silver medal in the foil team competition with the Soviet team at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich . In the individual, he finished fifth. At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal , he finished fourth with the team and seventh in the individual.
With the Soviet team, Denisov was twice world champion ( 1973 and 1974 ) and once vice world champion ( 1975 ). In 1975 he also won the bronze medal in the foil individual.
In 1979, Denisow ended his career and started working as a trainer. From 1997 to 2008 he was President of the Fencing Federation of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast .
