Vladimir Mikhailovich Lapizki ( Russian Владимир Михайлович Лапицкий * 18th February 1959 in Grodno ) is a former Soviet foil - fencers . He won a silver medal in the Olympics .
successes
On July 26, 1980 Lapizki won at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow with the Soviet team, together with Vladimir Smirnov , Alexander Romankow , Sabirdschan Rusijew and Ashot Karagjan the silver medal in foil team competition. In the battle against Bogusław Zych (1951–1995) he suffered a serious injury, the Pole stabbed Lapizki in the back, and the foil came out three millimeters from the heart of the chest.
With the Soviet team, Lapitsky was world champion in 1979 . In 1978 he finished third with the foil team.
