Vladimir Saimov

Vladimir Stoyanov Saimow ( Bulgarian Владимир Стоянов Заимов * 25. November 1888 in Kyustendil , † 1. June 1942 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian politician and colonel general .

Life

Saimow graduated from a military school in 1907 and fought in the Balkan Wars in 1912 and 1913 and then in the First World War . Before the Second World War he worked for the high command of the Soviet Red Army . He also worked for the Central Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party in support of their partisan activities . He was arrested in 1942 and sentenced to death . He was shot on June 1, 1942 .

Saimov was awarded the Order of Lenin and post mortem as a Hero of the Soviet Union .
