Vladimir Vasilyevich Volkov

Wladimir Wassiljewitsch Wolkow ( Russian Владимир Васильевич Волков , English transcription Vladimir Volkov; born March 7, 1921 in Moscow , † 1986 ) was a Soviet decathlete and long jumper .

In 1949 he won silver in the long jump and in the decathlon at the World Festival of Youth and Students .

In the decathlon he was sixth at the European Athletics Championships in Brussels in 1950 and won the 1951 World Festival of Youth and Students . He was fourth at the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki and defended his title at the 1953 World Youth and Students Festival.

He was four times Soviet champion in the decathlon (1947, 1949, 1951, 1952).
