Wladimir Wladimirowitsch Bortko ( Russian Владимир Владимирович Бортко ; born May 7, 1946 in Moscow ) is a Russian screenwriter , actor , producer and director .

Life

Bortko studied at the State Geological Institute in Kiev and served after graduating from 1965 to 1966 in the Soviet military. He then worked as an electrician until 1969 . In 1974 he completed his training at the KGITI drama school and subsequently worked at the Dowschenko studios in Kiev. From 1980 he worked as a director at Lenfilm . With his film Blondinka sa uglom (blonde behind the corner), he gained fame throughout the Eastern Bloc. He received the Grand Prix of Perugia for the film adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov's story Dog Heart .

Wladimir Bortko is married and has one son.
