description

Kötzschenbrodaer Strasse 187
Kötzschenbrodaer Str. 187: entrance door with coat of arms

The listed , “modest” residential building is located on the south side of Kötzschenbrodaer Straße , immediately east of the last piece of land in the Fürstenhain village (Kötzschenbrodaer Straße 189). Opposite is the old cemetery .

The two-storey building stands on the eaves directly on the sidewalk, without a front garden like the neighboring houses. The five-axis core structure is symmetrical in the street view. In the central axis is the entrance door with a basket arch portal. This is held in place by a keystone , which is designated by the initials JCO , below RA and No.14 , next to it is the date 1805 . On top of the building sits a developed mansard roof with dormers on the front and back. The ground floor is massive, the upper floor consists of half-timbering ; both floors are plastered.

On both sides of the core building there are two two-storey, "disfiguring" extensions with flat roofs .

The windows on the ground floor and in the roof are framed by sandstone walls, while the half-timbered upper floor windows are framed by folding shutters .
