Living space at Stora Tjikkiträsket

The residential area at Stora Tjikkiträsket (lake) is west of the E 12, around 2.3 km south of Gunnarn in the municipality of Storuman in the Swedish province of Västerbotten County and the historic province of Lapland .

On a headland in Tjikkiträsket there are the remains of two winter camps used by hunters and gatherers and a pit. The larger winter camp is horseshoe-shaped, 16 × 14 meters and surrounded by a 3–4 m wide and 0.3 m high wall. The smaller one is also horseshoe-shaped with a diameter of about 12 m and is surrounded by a similar wall. The living space pit is oval with dimensions of approximately 8.0 × 7.0 meters.

The area was investigated in connection with a maritime regulation. Here, hundreds of one found scrapers from quartzite , parts of animal head daggers from shale , two stone legs, two large stone hoes, some pottery shards and burned bones of beavers , moose and seals and fish bones.

The larger winter camp was intermittently from 4000 to 2000 BC. Used.
