Wojciech Jan Browarny (born 1970 in Oels ) is a Polish literary historian, literary critic and politician.

Life

Browarny is Associate Professor at the University of Wroclaw , employee of the Institute for Polish Philology and Head of the Chair for Polish Literary History after 1918 and the Working Group for Silesian Regional Culture. His research area includes contemporary Polish prose, the literary culture of Silesia after 1945, and the anthropological challenges of modernity. He is the chairman of the University Committee for Grave Care of Earned People at the University of Wroclaw. As a reviewer he works with the monthly magazines "Nowe Książki" and "Odra". He lives in Wroclaw .

In 2015, Browarny was Sejm candidate for the Razem party (“Together”), city council candidate for the electoral community “Wrocław dla Wszystkich” (“Wroclaw for All”) in the 2018 self-government elections and a candidate for the Razem party in the EU parliamentary elections in 2019. He is a former member of the Wroclaw Department of the Association of People of Silesian Ethnicity and co-founder and secretary of the Society for Global Solidarity (2019).
