The Lewica Razem ( German  Left Together , Razem for short ) is a political party in Poland . It is based on the ideas of social democracy , progressivism and democratic socialism . Until June 2019 it was called Partia Razem .

History of the party

Razem was founded on May 16, 2015 and was created in response to the crisis affecting the political left in Poland. Initiators include members of the former group Młodzi Socjaliści (“Young Socialists”) and former functionaries of the Partia Zieloni (The Greens) . The formation is led by a nine-person board (including Adrian Zandberg and Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk ). On July 21, 2015, she was officially registered by a court. The party rejects the leadership principle common to all other parties and is administered collectively. The historian Adrian Zandberg only represented it in a cross-channel television debate on October 20, 2015. According to its own information, the Razem had around 6000 members in August 2015.

It put up candidates for the Sejm in the 2015 parliamentary elections in all constituencies , but not for the Senate . In the election she received 3.6% of the vote and thus missed the opportunity to enter the House of Representatives. The result, however, was rated as a respectable success, as the party was only forecasted about 1.2% and it is now receiving state party funding. Zandberg's appearance in the television round was rated as the most important contribution to the relative success. Zandberg himself received 49,711 votes.

It is compared to the Spanish Podemos party because of its leftist agenda, its demarcation from the established parties, the unconventional, grassroots forms of organization and the purple campaign color .

For the 2019 European elections , Razem worked with the pan-European DiEM25 movement and joined the Unia Pracy and the Ruch Sprawiedliwości Społecznej ( Social Justice Movement) under the list name Lewica Razem - the current party name. The alliance received 1.24% of the vote and clearly missed the 5% hurdle.

In the 2019 parliamentary elections , Lewica Razem will start together with the left-wing liberal party Wiosna from the SLD's list under the campaign name Lewica.
