Wojciech Kucharz

Wojciech Kucharz (born January 2, 1952 ) is a Polish mathematician.

Kucharz received his doctorate in 1977 from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow under Józef Siciak. In 1980 he went to the USA and became a professor at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. In 2008 he completed his habilitation in Poland. He has been a professor at Jagellion University since 2010.

He deals with real algebraic geometry.

Kucharz was an invited speaker at the International Congress of Mathematicians in Rio de Janeiro in 2018. In the same year he received the Stefan Banach Prize .
