Wojciech Mojzesowicz (born June 25, 1954 in Bydgoszcz ) is a Polish politician and member of the Sejm in the 10th electoral term ( PRL ), as well as the I., IV., V. and VI . Election term ( Third Republic ), from September 9, 2006 to October 23, 2006 State Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office, from July 31, 2007 to November 16, 2007 Minister of Agriculture in the Jarosław Kaczyński government .

Life

He comes from a family with Armenian roots. In 1974 he finished the State Agricultural Technical College in Karolewo (he was in the same class as Andrzej Lepper ), he runs his own farm.

Political activity

In 1989 he was elected to the Sejm for the first time on the list of the Zjednoczone Stronnictwo Ludowe (United People's Party - ZSL). In 1991 he was re-elected to the Sejm as a member of the Polskie Stronnictwo Ludowe (Polish People's Party) through the "Bydgoska Lista Jedności Ludowej" (Bydgoszczer List for the Unity of People's Parties). From 1998 to 2001 he sat in the Sejmik of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship). At the end of the 1990s he joined the Samoobrona (self-defense) protest party . Through their list, he was again a member of the Sejm in the 2001 parliamentary elections . During this fourth electoral term he was chairman of the Sejm Commission for Agriculture and joined the Polski Blok Ludowy (Polish People's Bloc) faction he founded and also founded a party of the same name. In 2005 he joined the Prawo i Sprawiedliwość (Law and Justice - PiS), from whose list he was re-elected to the Sejm in the 2005 parliamentary elections .

On September 9, 2006, he resigned from his position as chairman of the Sejm Commission for Agriculture and was appointed State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office with responsibility for agricultural policy by Jarosław Kaczyński. He held this office until October 23, 2006. From June 1 to July 10, 2007, he was an independent MP and left the PiS parliamentary group in protest against the entry of Andrzej Lepper and Samoobrona into the government coalition. He returned to the PiS parliamentary group on July 10th after the resignation of Andrzej Lepper.

On July 31, 2007, he was appointed Minister of Agriculture. He held this office until November 16, 2007.

In the parliamentary elections in 2007 he was again on the list of the PiS for the constituency of Bydgoszcz with 37,634 votes for the fifth time as a member of the Sejm. In the fourth electoral term he is deputy chairman of the Sejm Commission for Agriculture.

Afera taśmowa (band affair)

On September 27, 2006, a conversation between Wojciech Mojzesowicz and the then MP Renata Beger was secretly recorded, during which Mojzeszowicz tried to buy her support for the Jarosław Kaczyński government with the promise of various services in return. This recording was one of the main triggers of the so-called "Afera taśmowa" (band affair), due to which Mojzeszowicz had to resign on October 23, 2006 from his office as State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office. On October 25, 2006, the Sejm Commission for Members' Ethics reprimanded the MP for his involvement in this affair.
