Wolf-Dietrich von Fircks-Burgstaller

Wolf-Dietrich von Fircks-Burgstaller (* 1948 in Göttingen ) is a German lawyer and was rector of the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna .

academic career

Wolf-Dietrich von Fircks studied law in Göttingen , Freiburg and Kiel from 1968 to 1972. In addition to his internship, von Fircks was a lecturer and assistant at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel .

1985 von Fircks became chancellor of the University of Hildesheim for six years.

From 1991 to 1997 von Fircks was Chancellor at the Carl von Ossietzky University in Oldenburg , and from 1993 Fircks was also spokesman for the Chancellor of Lower Saxony's universities for two years .

From 1997 to 2001 Chancellor of the Free University of Berlin and since 1999 also spokesman for the Chancellors of Berlin and Brandenburg .

From March 1, 2001 to 2010, von Fircks was rector of the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna . He is married to Maria Burgstaller.
