Wolf Gregorevich Messing (born September 10, 1899 in Góra Kalwaria , Russian Poland , † November 8, 1974 in Moscow ) was a clairvoyant and telepath who appeared as a mentalist .

He came from a Jewish family in Góra Kalwaria and acted as a mind reader even as a teenager. In 1939, after the German invasion of Poland and the outbreak of World War II , he fled to the Soviet Union . His entire family appears to have perished in Majdanek and in the Warsaw Ghetto .

In 1965 the magazine Наука и Религия Messings published alleged memoirs. It reports on thought transference and various premonitions that are said to have piqued the interest of Albert Einstein , Sigmund Freud , Sathya Sai Baba , Josef Stalin and others. It is claimed that Messing met Sigmund Freud and Josef Stalin several times personally. The veracity of these claims, like numerous anecdotes about brass, is uncertain; For example, Wolf Messing is not listed in the register of various works on Sigmund Freud or in the register volume of Freud's collected works published by S. Fischer in 1968 .

In 1971 he was honored as an Honored Artist of the RSFSR ( Заслуженный артист РСФСР ).
