Wolf Uecker

Wolf Uecker (* 1921 in Berlin ; † June 18, 1999 in Ebstorf ) was a German author , reporter and gallery owner . He founded the art magazine art .

Live and act

After the war, Uecker initially worked as an editor in a large publishing house, then as a reporter for Stern . Here he contributed the verses to the comic strip Reinhold the Rhinoceros , the drawings were by Loriot . In the first book publication of the series in 1954 he was still mentioned by his name, in the later 1960s and 1970s he appeared under the pseudonym Basil. In the mid-1950s, he founded the advertising agency UPS in Hamburg , from which CoPartner emerged , which in turn merged with Wilkens . Uecker was one of the founders of the information service Der Kontakter , which is now owned by Europa-Fachpresse Verlag (a subsidiary of the Süddeutsche Zeitung ) and published by Werben & Sell .

In November 1979 he founded art - Das Kunstmagazin . Uecker was also an art collector and owned a gallery. In 1981 he retired to a farm in the Lüneburg Heath and devoted himself increasingly to his passion for cooking. He has written around 20 books on cooking, art, country life and travel.
