Wolfgang-Ekkehard Scharlipp

Wolfgang-Ekkehard Scharlipp (born July 22, 1947 in Bad Salzuflen ) is a German Turkologist , Tibetologist and Indologist .

After completing his doctorate and habilitation, he taught the history of language and literature of the Turks at the universities in Freiburg / Breisgau, Zurich and Nicosia (in the Greek part). He has been teaching in Copenhagen since 1997 .

He is the author of several works, articles in professional journals and translator of many novels and short stories from Turkish.

He also speaks Chinese and Arabic .
