Wolfgang Anzengruber (born September 5, 1956 in Steyr , Upper Austria ) is an Austrian manager and has been CEO of Verbund AG since 2009 .

Life

Anzengruber attended the HTL Steyr , specializing in mechanical engineering, engine and vehicle construction, where he graduated in 1976 . He then began studying industrial engineering - mechanical engineering at the Vienna University of Technology , which he completed in 1982 with the academic degree of Diplomingenieur .

He then worked in various management functions at Simmering-Graz-Pauker SGP in the areas of environmental technology and traffic engineering. From 1988 to 1990 he was managing director of SYSTEC Industrieautomation GmbH. In 1990 he moved to ABB Industrie GmbH and held the position of managing director. From 1993 to 1999 he was managing director of Asea Brown Boveri ABB Industrie & Gebäudeysteme GmbH and a member of the executive board of ABB Austria. From 1999 to 2003, in the role of board member of Salzburger Stadtwerke Aktiengesellschaft, he merged with the regional company SAFE and in 2000 was appointed board member of the newly created Salzburg AG for the energy, transport and telecommunications sector. Anzengruber was CEO of the Palfinger Group from September 2003 to November 2008 . In May 2007 he was awarded the Vienna Stock Exchange Prize 08 for small and medium-sized companies for his successful work at Palfinger. On June 17, 2008, the supervisory board of the listed Verbund AG unanimously appointed Anzengruber as chairman of the board with effect from January 1, 2009.

From 2018 to 2023 he is a member of the University Council of the University of Salzburg .

In March 2020, the Supervisory Board decided that Michael Strugl should succeed Anzengruber as CEO of Verbund AG at the beginning of 2021.

Anzengruber lives in Vienna and Salzburg-Aigen.

He is married to Susanne Anzengruber and has three daughters.

He is also considered a passionate coffeehouse visitor. Anzengruber is a member of the K.Ö.St.V. Lamberg Steyr and since 2009 also the K.ö.St.V. Almgau Salzburg in MKV and K.Ö.HV Rupertina and K.Ö.St.V. Aargau in the ÖCV .
