Wolfgang Dreher

Wolfgang Dreher (born August 8, 1945 ) is a judge at the German Federal Social Court .

After completing his legal training, he initially worked as a research assistant at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau until 1978 , before entering the social justice system of the state of Baden-Württemberg and working as a judge at the Stuttgart Social Court and the Karlsruhe Social Court .

In 1982 he was appointed judge at the regional social court.

After a secondment to the Institute for Legal Facts Research at the University of Konstanz from 1985 to 1987, Dreher was appointed judge at the Federal Social Court in 1992, where he was first assigned to the 12th Senate, later to the 1st Senate, and since 2003 as its deputy chairman.

After his appointment as presiding judge at the Federal Social Court in 2004, he is now chairman of the 5th and 8th Senate.
