Wolfgang Drews (politician)

Wolfgang Drews (born November 13, 1966 in Hamburg ) is a Hamburg politician ( CDU ) and former member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Life

Drews attended school from 1972 to 1985 and graduated from high school at Borgfelde . From 1985 to 1986 he did his military service . This was followed by training as a banker at Hamburger Sparkasse until 1988 . From 1988 to 1993 he studied business administration at the University of Hamburg . The examination for a business graduate took place in 1993. From 1993 to 1998 he worked as a corporate client advisor at Norddeutsche Hypotheken- und Wechselbank . From 1998 he worked for the Deutsche Apotheker- und Ärztebank in Hamburg, initially as an authorized signatory and from 2001 as a department director. Drews moved to his employer's Düsseldorf headquarters in June 2005. Since 2015 Drews has been managing director of the DRK district association Hamburg-Eimsbüttel eV

politics

Drews joined the CDU in 1985. From 1991 to 1997 he was a member of the Hamburg-Mitte district assembly . At the same time - from 1992 to 1993 - he was state chairman of the Junge Union Hamburg and a member of the state board of the CDU Hamburg. From 2000 to 2005 he was again active on the state executive committee of the CDU Hamburg. From October 1997 to June 2005 Drews was a member of the Hamburg Parliament and as such a member of the school committee. He resigned his mandate in the 18th electoral term for professional reasons .
