Wolfgang Fengler

Wolfgang Peter Paul Fengler (born July 6, 1952 in Braunschweig ) is a professor emeritus and held the chair for the design of railway systems at the “Friedrich List” Faculty of Transport Science at the Technical University of Dresden .

Life

Fengler studied after high school, he at school School Partner took off in Brunswick, from 1971 at the TU Braunschweig Civil Engineering . After obtaining his diploma (1979), he went to the Hanover Federal Railway Directorate as a construction trainee . In 1981 he was appointed Assessor of the Building Industry, to the Federal Railway Council for employment and finally to the Federal Railway Council . In the same year he took on the role of station master at Wolfenbüttel station as well as the representative of the administrative board at the Warburg operations office .

In April 1983, he became a research fellow with the Institute of Transport, Railway and Transport Safety at the Technical University of Braunschweig, where in 1987 he on computerized method for network-wide determination of Abfahrlagen of through freight trains doctorate .

In 2000 he was appointed professor for the design of railway systems at the TU Dresden. In 2018 he retired.
