Wolfgang Filc

Wolfgang Filc (born August 30, 1943 in Berlin ) is a German university professor. He has been a professor of economics , especially money, credit and currency, at the University of Trier since 1981 . His research focus is monetary macroeconomics .

Life

He studied at the Free University of Berlin from 1965 to 1970 . He then moved to the TU Hannover as a research assistant , where he received his doctorate in 1974 with a thesis on interest rate arbitrage and currency speculation . In 1980 he completed his habilitation .

Filc was from December 1, 1998 to June 30, 1999 under Oskar Lafontaine and Hans Eichel Ministerial Director and Head of the “International Financial and Currency Relations” department in the Federal Ministry of Finance . He is a member of the board of directors for empirical economic research and chairman of the supervisory board of Triwo Aktiengesellschaft.
