Erik Geerts

Erik Geerts (born February 10, 1969 ) is a Dutch skeleton driver .

Erik Geerts, an engineer from Farmsum , has been running skeleton since 2001 and has been a member of the Dutch national team since 2002. He is trained by Hendrik Tjaden. In December 2002 he made his debut in Winterberg as 28th in the European Skeleton Cup . The following month Geerts contested his first race in the Skeleton World Cup in Igls (35th). In the next few years he mostly competed in the European Cup, but without achieving any results worth mentioning. With his second place behind Peter van Wees at the Dutch Championships in 2008, he was able to qualify for the World Cup again. In Cesana Pariol he finished 26th and thus achieved his best World Cup placement to date. At the European Skeleton Championships in 2008 , he finished 18th.
