Wolfgang Funke

Wolfgang Funke (* 1937 in Glauchau ; † January 10, 2009 ) was a German writer .

Live and act

Wolfgang Funke passed his Abitur at the Georgius-Agricola-Oberschule Glauchau. He then studied medicine at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald . He did military service as a doctor in the National People's Army , completed two specialist training and was awarded a Dr. med. PhD .

In 1954 he began writing satirical stories, which were then published from the mid-1960s in the GDR satire magazine Eulenspiegel , in the Sächsische Zeitung , the Free World and other newspapers and magazines. His stories have been translated into several Eastern European languages ​​(Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Romanian, Slovak). Funke also wrote lyrics for chansons and children's songs.

Wolfgang Funke lived in East Frisia .
