Wolfgang Haberl (born April 30, 1968 in Vienna ) is an Austrian filmmaker . He heads the European Science Film Festival sf² and heads the European Academy of Science Film (EURASF).

Life

From 1993 to 2000, Wolfgang Haberl worked as an assistant and screenwriter co-author of the Austrian film director Wolfram Paulus . In 2004 Haberl founded the company hablo and focused on the content of his work on intercultural and scientific documentary films. From 2007 to 2009 Haberl organized and directed the filmcollege Wien , a multi-semester Austrian film training course at the polycollege Stöbergasse. Haberl has been director of the European science film festival sf² since 2007.

Since 2015 he has been head of the European Academy of Science Film (EURASF), a network of ten European science film festivals to date, with numerous members from the fields of film, television and science.

Wolfgang Haberl is a full member of the Association of Austrian Screenwriters and the Academy of Austrian Films .
