Wolfgang Heinemann (historian)

Wolfgang Heinemann (born March 5, 1936 ; † September 30, 2017 in Simmern / Hunsrück ) was a German teacher and historian .

Life

From 1972 to 2000 Heinemann was director of the Herzog-Johann-Gymnasium in Simmern . The historian was a member of the city council from 1974 to 1984. He is co-author of the commemorative publication 650 Years of the City of Simmern published by the city in 1980. Heinemann has been a member of the Günter Felke Foundation's board of directors since 1990. He was the editor of the Hunsrücker Heimatblätter since 2000 and from December 2002 took over the editing of Gustav Schellack. From 2002 to 2014 he was chairman of the cultural association CulturisSIMo of the city and association of Simmern.

Awards

In December 2008, Wolfgang Heinemann received the Badge of Honor from the city of Simmern for special cultural merits. and in January 2016 the badge of honor of the Simmern municipality .
