Wolfgang Kromp (born September 17, 1970 in Villach ) is a former Austrian ice hockey striker , who played his entire career for the EC VSV in the Austrian ice hockey league .

Career

Kromp comes from the offspring of the EC VSV. Since his Bundesliga debut in 1989 as a 19-year-old, he has played over 900 games in the Austrian ice hockey league. Kromp, a trained left winger, could also be used as a defender. With the EC VSV he was able to win the Austrian championship title five times.

Kromp also played for the Austrian national team for a long time . He competed in four A world championships for Austria and took part in the Winter Olympics twice. He came to 24 world championship and eleven Olympic games.

After the 2009/10 season, Kromp ended his professional career in the highest Austrian ice hockey league and completed another season at amateur level for EC-SV Spittal in the "Carinthian Hockey League".

Between 2011 and 2016 he was part of the EC VSV coaching staff in the junior division.
