Wolfgang Mayer (born December 22, 1978 in Oberndorf ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and state manager of the Salzburg People's Party. He has been a member of the Salzburg state parliament since 2013 .

education and profession

Mayer began his school education in 1985 at the elementary school in Faistenau before moving to the College Borromaeum Salzburg in 1989 . He passed his Matura here in May 1997 with excellent success and then spent an intensive language course in Granada between September and October 1997 . In 1998 he began studying political science and history at the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg, where he passed the diploma examinations for history and political science with distinction in February and March respectively. Since 1998 he has been a member of the Catholic student association KÖHV Rheno-Juvavia Salzburg in the ÖCV . He continued his political science studies between 2001 and 2002 at the Institut d'Études Politiques de Lyon at the University of Lyon II and received the degree Mag. Phil. In May 2003 . at the Institute for Political Science in Salzburg. In December 2003 he also received a performance scholarship from the University of Salzburg.

Between 2003 and 2004 Mayer worked in the field of organization and marketing in the state election campaign for the ÖVP Salzburg before he worked as a club director in the ÖVP local council club between 2004 and 2009. In addition, between 2008 and 2009 he led the election campaign of the ÖVP City of Salzburg and of Deputy Mayor Harald Preuner . Subsequently, in 2009 he was also the office manager in the office of City Councilor Schmidt and from 2009 to 2011 political director of the ÖVP Salzburg, before finally taking over the position of regional manager of the Salzburg People's Party in 2011.

Wolfgang Mayer ran for the ÖVP in the 2013 state election and was sworn in as a member of parliament on June 19, 2013. He is the area spokesman for security, housing / spatial planning and rescue services within the ÖVP state parliament club.
