Wolfgang Oswald (theologian)

Wolfgang Oswald (born December 11, 1958 in Stuttgart ) is a German Protestant theologian.

Life

Oswald passed his first theological examination in 1992, after which he was vicar of the Württemberg regional church . In 1998 Oswald became pastor in Buttenhausen, dean's office in Münsingen . Oswald received his doctorate in 1998 at the Theological Faculty of the University of Zurich to Dr. theol. Since 2003 he has been a research assistant at the Evang.-Theol. Faculty of the University of Tübingen , Chair of the Old Testament. His habilitation took place in 2006, also in the Old Testament department. Since 2012 Oswald has been an adjunct professor for special tasks in teaching and research in the area of ​​the Old Testament.

Oswald's research focuses on the Pentateuch and prophets, especially the book Exodus , as well as the conceptions of rule and state in Israel and its environment and questions of exegetical method.
