Wolfgang "Latscher" Pohl (born December 30, 1954 in Espelkamp ) is a former German football player .

Wolfgang Pohl came to Arminia Bielefeld in 1970 as a teenager from Prussia Espelkamp. Thanks to his excellent performance in the DSC youth teams, he was able to recommend himself to the Arminia professional squad. He got a professional contract in 1973 and was soon able to assert himself in the professional squad. From 1974 Pohl was a regular player in the 2nd Bundesliga . From 1976 to 1980 he formed the central defense of the Bielefeld team with Hans-Werner Moors , in 1977 Bielefeld failed as second in the north group only in the third deciding game for promotion to the Bundesliga against the south-second TSV 1860 Munich . A season later, the Bielefeld rose as champions of the north group in the Bundesliga, followed by relegation and immediate promotion. From 1980 to 1985 Pohl played five years in a row in the 1st Bundesliga, gradually returning from central defense to defensive midfield.

Pohl became a long-runner on the Alm, he played 318 games for Arminia Bielefeld until 1985 and scored 19 goals in the two national leagues. He was the record player for East Westphalia in the top German division until he was replaced by Rüdiger Kauf in 2009 . After relegation to the Bundesliga in 1985, Pohl ended his football career.
