Wolfgang Radtke

Wolfgang Radtke (born February 13, 1942 in Pobethen ) is a German medieval historian .

After graduating from high school in Ahrensburg in 1961 , Radtke studied history, German, philosophy and pedagogy for teaching in Hamburg and Freiburg . In 1967 he passed the first state examination, in 1968 he received his doctorate with Otto Brunner in Hamburg , and in 1970 he passed the second state examination. From 1970 to 1972 Radtke was a research assistant at the Historical Commission in Berlin, then he was offered a position at the University of Education in Berlin . In 1980 he moved to the Technical University of Berlin , where he taught medieval history as a professor until 2010 . He is a member of the Historical Commission in Berlin .

His work focuses on the history of the eastern territories of the empire, the history of the city and the history of Berlin and Brandenburg.
