Wolfgang Reimer

Wolfgang Reimer (* 6. February 1956 in Creglingen ) is a German diploma - agricultural engineer . Since June 1, 2016, he is President of the Government of the administrative district of Stuttgart in Baden-Wuerttemberg , with over four million inhabitants, the largest administrative district in Baden-Württemberg.

Reimer is a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen . He is married and lives in Gaildorf-Reippersberg. Reimer and his wife took over a farm in Gaildorf-Reippersberg in 1985, which is managed by Bioland in accordance with ecological rules . The farm is run by his wife.

Career

From 1985 to 2001 he worked as a parliamentary advisor to the parliamentary group of the Greens in the Baden-Württemberg state parliament. There he was responsible for the areas of agriculture and forestry, consumer protection and rural areas. From 2001 to 2011 Reimer worked in the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection, initially as head of the subdivision Agricultural Structure and Rural Areas. From 2009 he headed the agriculture sub-department. From 2011 to May 31, 2016 he was Head of Office ( Ministerial Director ) in the Ministry for Rural Areas and Consumer Protection Baden-Württemberg in the Kretschmann I cabinet .
