Wolfgang Rupf

Wolfgang Rupf (born July 22, 1942 in Heidenheim ) is a German manager. Rupf was Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Hornbach Holding AG.

Rupf studied law and economics at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen , the University of Lausanne and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . He received his doctorate in 1972. iur. at the University of Bonn. He has been a member of the Catholic student union AV Guestfalia Tübingen since 1962 .

Rupf was personally liable partner of BHF-Bank from 1984 to 1994 . From 1995 to 1996 he was CEO of Hornbach Holding AG and Hornbach Baumarkt AG. In 1997 he became CEO of Bankgesellschaft Berlin AG , which he held until 2001.

Rupf was indicted by the public prosecutor's office for breach of trust in 2006 because of the Berlin banking scandal , but he was acquitted in 2007 by the Berlin Regional Court.

Rupf is a nephew of the long-time managing director and chairman of the supervisory board of the mechanical engineering company Voith Hugo Rupf and brother of Hans-Joachim Rupf, the former chairman of the board of the Ulmer Volksbank. Rupf has another brother, the former forest director and head of the Duke of Württemberg's ducal forestry, Alfred Rupf.
