Wolfgang Schier

Wolfgang Schier (born February 22, 1918 in Kassel ; † 2005 ) was a German lawyer .

Life

Schier received his doctorate in 1950 from the Law Faculty of the University of Munich on the theology of Emil Brunner . In 1951 he became a district judge at the district court in Munich I , and in 1956 he moved to the Bavarian State Ministry of Justice as a senior councilor. In 1960 he became government director there. After working for one year as a judge at the Bavarian Supreme Court , Schier was appointed Ministerialrat in 1962 and Ministerialdirigent at the Bavarian Ministry of Justice in 1969.

From August 1, 1977 to February 28, 1983, he was President of the Bavarian Supreme Court and at the same time Vice-President of the Bavarian Constitutional Court .
