Wolfgang Schulte (born September 30, 1947 in Paderborn ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

After graduating from high school in 1967, Schulte studied law and economics in Münster and Kiel . In 1973 Schulte joined the SPD. He passed his major state law examination in 1976, after which he worked as a research assistant at the University of Kiel . In 1978 the doctorate took place.

From 1977 Schulte worked at the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of the Interior. In 1979 Schulte moved to Bonn as a speaker for the SPD parliamentary group . From 1981 he worked in the Federal Ministry of Finance .

In 1985, the Ludwigshafen SPD appointed him to succeed Günther Janson as an alderman for social affairs and youth. In 1991 Schulte became mayor . On July 1, 1993, after the resignation of Werner Ludwig , Schulte became mayor of the city of Ludwigshafen am Rhein.

Schulte set structural accents such as the new construction of the Ludwigshafen (Rhein) Mitte train station and Berliner Platz .
