Wolfgang Vlk

Wolfgang Vlk (born December 4,  1956 in Vienna ) is a former Austrian basketball player .

career

Vlk, who was born and grew up in Vienna , took part in the European Championship in this age group with the Austrian national cadet team in 1973, a year later he played with the national team at the European Junior Championships in France and was pro with an average of 11.4 points Game of the best Austrian scorer during the tournament.

From 1975 he played for UBSC Vienna in the Bundesliga and in the European Cup. In the course of his career, Vlk was Austrian champion three times.

In 1977 he made it to the A group with the Austrian national team and took part in the European Championship in Belgium. In May 1980 he joined the team in the elimination round for the Olympic Games. Later, from 1983 to 1987, Vlk was the captain of the national team.

Professionally, Vlk, who studied social and economic sciences in Vienna and obtained a master’s degree, worked as an auditor and tax advisor. He has four children. He worked as an auditor in the Austrian Basketball Association. He was president of the Vienna Basketball Association and was later made honorary president.
